The Rita
Shark Knifing 7" - $7.50 NA / $9.00 WORLD
SNSE075
Lurching, ripping, and tearing. Relentless and sharp. Thrashing about in the blood water, coming back for the torso. There are sharks and then there are knives. How about sharks getting their throats slit by humans with knives? Think about it.
These two sides present a concise and brutal attack by the master. As if the short format pushed him to pack each track with all the highlight elements typically spread out over longer form The Rita recordings. Hits hard, hits fast.
SNSE is proud to present this large-hole 7" wrapped in a twelve page booklet adorned with not-nice artwork culled from McKinlay's massive personal collection as well as drawings created by the man himself.

Mania / Bloomer
Ready To Do Damage LP - $15.00 NA / $25.00 WORLD
GAPING HOLE
Ready To Do Damage is an album that seethes with malevolence. Sustained piercing feedback. Crashing and ripping metal. Distortion flaking off every corner. Dank. Violent. The A side contains a live collaboration (first ever for Mania) between these two artists, while side B holds a solo track from each.
Mania has terrorized the noise/PE world since 2002 with releases on his own imprint Bitewerks, as well as Freak Animal, Harsh Head Rituals, Abisko, Vemod, and others. He resides in Texas in near total isolation and is certainly armed.
Ryan Bloomer is currently a member of industrial scuzz unit Piss Horn. He lives in Canada, surrounded by amplifiers, and heads up the Traumatone organization, makers of noise devices most vile.

Diaphragm
Sublimation CD - $10.00 NA / $15.00 WORLD
SNSE073
The debut CD from Diaphragm is an amalgamation of dark droning machinery, choppy shuddering, and static-laden buzz and whir augmented by a rusted mountain of ancient oscillators. These are exacting compositions inspired by the greyed-out hulks of broken concrete and broken razorwire that litter the landscape of the artist's surroundings. The sounds on Sublimation may appeal to listeners of Speculum Fight, Iovae, Tom Grimley...
Diaphragm is the project of New York native Nicholas Pace. He is part of a core group of diverse young artists that include Halflings, Cathode Terror Secretion, Ahlzagailzehguh, Pharmakon, and others, that are providing for some serious and difficult listening in early 21st century NYC.
REVIEW: One True Dead Angel blog 12/14/08
"...Pace's attention to detail is particularly revealed in tracks like "Party Foul I," where deliberate EQ abuse and growing layers of drone and choppy static create a suffocating, claustrophobic vibe that culminates in an abrupt drop into ambient sound that's followed by a series of unpredictably timed explosions of noise that end in a crushing wall of sonic violence. Unlike a lot of harsh noise artists, Pace gets a lot of mileage out of well-placed moments of silence or minimal sound (a tactic put to best use on "Morning Ritual - Evening Ritual"), which makes harsher tracks like "Black Watermelon" all the more excruciating when they arrive. This is excellent stuff, reminiscent of a darker and harsher version of Hum of the Druid, and well worth seeking out."
REVIEW: Idwal Fisher (January 2009)
"...a decent guide as any to what’s coming out of New York circa early 21st century courtesy of Diaphragm... The highs are Party Foul II which is eleven minutes of slowly unfurling machine groan howl drone and Black Watermelon which is a mass of disorientating insect chatter and exchange station contacts."

Haemorrhaging Fetus
Procreation: A Disease / Tangled Desires LP - $15.00 NA / $25.00 WORLD
GAPING HOLE
"There are just a handful of newer, contemporary harsh noise artists in this day and age that have a firm grasp of the structures within the genre and how that can be manipulated to exert force upon the listener.... Anthony Shaw has a firm grasp of the harsh noise canvas and knows how to manipulate the listener with different bombardments and heavily timed lines of crashing, crunching, feed backing, and crumbling. All classic staples of the harsh noise entity, but not always executed today with such power and force; ultimately defining thunderous ‘harsh noise’ for the avid listener." - Sam McKinlay (excerpt from liner notes)
Haemorrhaging Fetus' first LP is a fresh working on the rough stylings of classic acts such as Incapacitants and OVMN and compares favorably to contemporary peers The Cherry Point and The Rita. Transcending the staid boundaries of contemporary "wall" noise, this record offers a deftly layered construction of harsh, considered composition. An edition of 250 copies reissuing two now out-of-print Gaping Hole cassettes.
REVIEW: Idwal Fisher (January 2009)
"...A hark back to the days when noise artists actually made records you wanted to buy. Blunt, ugly and impressive all in one bundle."
REVIEW: Vital Weekly #658
"I've had this 12inch around for about a week before playing - I was hoping not to be disappointed- but it lives up to both its promise and its PR. 3 tracks of sheer walls of noise -fairly continuous low roar- like escaping stream, jet engine, Apollo lift off kind of thing, with shards of feedback. H.F. is Anthony Shaw - he makes harsh noise. Ergo HF = HN . And that might be sufficient - but just two small points- technically this is excellent- it takes both some skill- but much more the bravery not to glam up or add to the totalizing noise, and the confidence to release a work into a genre which is in some areas is imploding back into musicological and/or political sterility AKA pussyfication. To those who assert noise is just another musical genre this LP offers the lie. Noise is not music but the sound of the end of the world. Best release of 2008." (Jliat)
REVIEW: Plague Haus 12/11/08
"...Side A kicks off with “Cankered Womb”. Now I love a good wall, but more often than not it’s just one dimensional, boring nonsense with no thought to construction, “just hit Record, dude!”. So when it’s done right the reward is even better. It’s a warehouse filled with a thousand TV sets all turned to nonexistent channels and cranked to 10. The louder you listen to this one the more it envelopes you. Ten plus minutes of crunchy white bliss. The textures of “Stillborn” are a bit more subtle. Imagine a contact mic taped to the shuttles solid rocket boosters, nearly five minutes of static thrust until separation.
Side B consists of one fifteen minute long track, “Tangled Desires”. This one is lighter on the low-end crunch and heavier on the high-end hiss. Grab the headphones for this one and sizzling wet tendrils will slither down you ear cavities like a teenage tongue to virgin holes. Ceaseless and unending, it neither fades nor fails.
This one is definitely worth seeking out. I’d love to see more great walls released in this format as it lends itself well..."

Hum of the Druid
Raising the New Wing / Braided Industry LP - $15.00 NA / $25.00 WORLD
SNSE072
Eric Stonefelt returns with another meticulously crafted album of crunching, crumbling, crackling modern industrial music. The sounds of metal and machinery and vocal vomit. HOTD constructs audio works of intricacy with such careful attention paid to timbre and texture, each repeat listen revealing a heretofore unnoticed detail or ten. For fans of Daniel Menche, Small Cruel Party, The New Blockaders, Einleitungzeit, Linija Mass...
REVIEW: Aquarius Records New Arrivals #296
"...Massive swells of sound, all low end, and we mean VERY low end, super blown out, crumbling, Merzbowian, vast expanses of speaker destroying rumble, giving way to stretches of sound much more tranquil, like Masami Akita mixing Wolf Eyes. Sheets of murky industrial drift wreathed in corrosive buzz and wallowing in downtuned tectonic filth. Some parts sound like wind blowing on a microphone, but cranked to danger levels, other parts sound like a million turntables with the needle stuck in the run off groove of some super scratched up old record, peppered with the clatter and clank of some alien machinery, it's almost like a stereo test record, but instead of tones, it's a series of long, sprawling slabs of super intense drone, and speaker shredding grind and buzz. It's all very deep and abrasive, caustic and corrosive, but actually strangely mesmerizing..."
REVIEW: Plague Haus 12/11/08
"The first thing I noticed was the amazing cover art done by Mr. Stonefelt himself. The cover reminds me of René Lalouxs’ work on Fantastic Planet and is the perfect companion to the sound inside... An I-beam being drug across a giant spring. A steel bar against your skull. A contact mic shoved in the exhaust of a 67 Dodge Charger. Scraping metal and vibrating steel bounce around the room for almost a full 15 minutes... More steel mill chaos and a distant scream. The cranking noise begins to make me feel a little uneasy. I like it. It’s like being lowered into the heart of a blast furnace sealed in some enormous metal bell... Highly recommended."
REVIEW: Idwal Fisher (January 2009)
"I’ve previously compared Hum of the Druid as coming from the more organic end of certain TNB outings, and in parts this bears comparison again. As well as there being some guttural Con-Dom like vocals following the aftermath of a Sun O))) gig this is a well worked piece of electro-acoustic experimentation that holds up well to repeated listens..."

Pig
Exam
Contort Thine Cells CD - $10.00 NA / $15.00 WORLD
SNSE064
On Contort Thine Cells,
New Zealand native Loren Clements (aka Pig Exam)
lets fly with the SHOCK VOLTS - heavy electric razor wire blastage
kicking and screaming from your shreded-out speaker cones. Nothing
dark, dreary, or mysterious here, just the unadorned sounds of getting
shot in the face by a police taser from short range. Twice.
Lorent has been creating the sharp
painful noise for over ten years in both solo and group settings
under various monikers: Downfeed, Zorac5, EggSpecies, Blisstuff,
Balance & the Blossum, Mommy Won't Wake Up, Degenerate &
Enable, and of course, Pig Exam. Contort
Thine Cells is Pig Exam's first pro-pressed
cd and his second release for SNSE, following 2003's Rape of
the Bees cdr.

Devillock
These Graves CD - $8.00 NA / $12.00 WORLD
SNSE062/PACrec116
“Devillock is Justin Chris
Meyers on organ, tapes and electronics. He also runs the Tone Filth
label and also plays as Panther Skull. 'These Graves' is his debut
on a real CD, but he has released handmade tapes and CDRs. He offers
four tracks of densely layered sound, knitting all the sounds he
can find together. Slowing down old reel to reel tapes on the title
track provide another dark gesture in this music. Devillock doesn't
play harsh noise as such, but he provides a pretty noise related
drone sound. Minimal piercing sounds, mainly the lower region of
the sound spectrum, making this quite a menacing affair. Noise as
it's supposed to be: menacing, not by the harshness of it's sound,
but by the content of what its sound has to offer. Despite it's
title and bandname, I think it's a much more serious affair than
the average noise attack. Great stuff.” – Frans DeWard,

Panther
Skull
Slothwave CD - $10.00 NA / $15.00 WORLD
SNSE057
Spoiled gunk tape roll with the
organ heave and moan. The howl. This is bleak and this is zoned.
Might as well plug and blow out your nose as hard as you can for
25 minutes straight. Panther Skull is Justin C
Meyers (Devillock, Tone Filth
label). Slothwave is Panther Skull’s debut CD.
“Panther Skull is the invention
of Justin C. Meyers, whose other activites include involvement with
Tone Filth, Devillock and others. Under this new pseudonym, however,
Meyers comes up with a more foreboding approach. Here he uses tapes,
organ and electronics to produce a quartet of sinister sounding
moanings that echo and reverberate in some dark, dripping sonic
cave of his own design. Sloth Wave has distinct elements of Mirror
drifting through it, as supernatural gusts of electronic fog roll
in and out of the mix and traces of feedback suddenly rise up like
tiny voices trying to be heard through the ensuing gloom of Meyer’s
bleak blanket of electronic murk.” – The Wire, Dec.

Niellerade
Fallibilisthorstar
Hålrum CD - $10.00 NA / $15.00 WORLD
SNSE050CD
CD version of Hålrum runs about 6 minutes longer than the LP
and presents the work in its uninterupted entirety.
"Beautiful career-spanning
collection of outside musical thought from this Swedish sound-collective,
with two sides of collaged pieces that span clattering sounds-of-the-junkyard
noise improvisations, the bells of ghost ships long lost to the
tide, beautiful Gregorian/choral tones, fractured jump-cuts that
bring to mind Nurse With Wound circa Spiral
Insana and A Salt Marie Celeste and moments of joyous
free-folk blurt. Recorded between 2001-2004, this makes for some
beautiful deep-listening and should suit fans of early Ghost,
Nurse With Wound, Asmus Tietchens,
Einsturzende Neubauten, The New Blockaders,
David Jackman, Keiji Haino and
The No-Neck Blues Band. ... you get the feeling
this one is gonna be a major item in years to come. Highly recommended."

“Really, this is an intensely unpleasurable record. When the
